Wilhelm
I continue to seek exposure to international projects and will transfer to the Boston office for a year.
Wilhelm
Consultant, Stockholm
A Personal Story
Upon graduating from university in 2006, I wanted to join a company that would allow me to grow as an individual while allowing me to leverage the experience and competence of senior management. BCG has provided me with precisely that. In an environment where you are asked your opinion from the very first day you will rapidly develop your professional self-confidence. With BCG I have also continued to seek exposure to international projects and as part of the BCG Ambassador Program I will transfer to the Boston office for one year.
Background
Wilhelm holds an MS degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics. He has also studied Russian and political science at the Universities of Stockholm and Uppsala, as well as finance at the Wharton School of Business MBA program. Wilhelm joined BCG's Stockholm office in 2006.
Kaori
BCG offers me enormous opportunities to develop myself further and the flexibility to steer my career in the direction I want.
Kaori
Consultant, Helsinki
A Personal Story
At BCG, you truly are valued as an individual, regardless of your age, gender, or background, and you are encouraged to develop your individuality and areas of interests further. In my case, I have focused on industrial goods companies, which have been my area of interest. I have been able to build a strong knowledge base on different industry sectors and have worked with various topics ranging from strategy development to pricing and process improvement.

For me, it has also been very important to build an international career, and at BCG I have been able to do projects in Europe and Asia. Next year I’m going to work at the BCG Tokyo office with BCG’s Global Ambassador Program. I hope to deepen my knowledge in industrial goods industries and also to improve my Japanese there.
Background
Kaori holds an MS in industrial engineering and management from the Helsinki University of Technology. Before joining BCG she worked for four years with KONE Elevators in Tokyo. Kaori was born and raised in Finland but has her roots in Japan.
Tomi
BCG has offered career opportunities and support to reach my professional goals.
Tomi
Consultant, Helsinki
A Personal Story

Before joining BCG, I had the opportunity to work in different emerging markets such as China and Latin America. My goal has been to build on that experience and to learn more about operating in Russia. BCG offered a possibility to brush-up my Russian—first in weekly classes, and then in an intensive language course before the first casework in Russia. Since then I have had the chance to work on a variety of cases, from short market studies to longer development projects in a full Russian setting.

I feel that BCG has offered an environment where I have been able to develop my career and capabilities to reach my goals. Furthermore, this was just the first step towards widening my experience through BCG's global network.

Background
Tomi holds an MS in engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology. Tomi joined BCG’s Helsinki office in 2007. Before joining BCG, Tomi had four years of industry experience working in China, Germany, and Latin America.
Ingrid
At BCG I have been able to understand not only the technology behind carbon capture and storage, but also how it fits into a business perspective.
Ingrid
Consultant, Oslo
A Personal Story
During my studies I became interested in the topic of energy, especially renewables and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and I did my master’s thesis mainly on the topic of CCS. At BCG I have been able to work on many cases related to energy, in particular new energy and CCS. It has been great to see how I can utilize my knowledge from university and build a much broader understanding of how a new technology fits into a business perspective. To me, BCG is great both because it provides a unique opportunity to work across sectors and industries, and because it is possible to go more into the detail of one topic and apply that knowledge across countries and players in the market.
Background
Ingrid holds an MS in industrial economics and technology management from NTNU, with energy and environmental studies as technological focus. She was an exchange student at Auckland University, New Zealand in 2005. Ingrid joined BCG Oslo in 2006 after having a winter internship in 2005.
Philip
With BCG I discover the world's diversity.
Philip
Principal, Copenhagen
A Personal Story
From the start of my career I wanted to experience all the diversity that a job in a global firm offers. When I filled in my project preferences in my first week at BCG, I ticked the box for international assignments. Now I have worked in over ten different countries and have taken the opportunity to change home office within BCG. The differences of running projects in different countries can be small, like food and attire, or much more challenging, like different languages, management styles, and business habits. To be confronted with this is a very enriching experience. Although I could remove the tick mark for international projects any moment, I will keep it for now.
Background
Philip studied economics in Switzerland and Singapore. He joined BCG Zurich in 2000 and worked in the Copenhagen office from 2006-2009, returning back to Zurich office in 2010.
