Company presentation and school events

Each year, BCG invites students to come and learn more about our company and your opportunities with us.

Our company presentation focuses on introducing BCG, describing our recruiting process, and highlighting some examples of client work that we have completed. The presentation is followed by informal discussions over drinks and refreshments. Information on specific events and dates will be posted at your school and in the student papers.

In addition to company presentations, we give lectures and hold seminars on various topics. For more information on upcoming lectures, seminars and other event opportunities, please see the events listed below.

Become an Expert Problem Solver—Join UCEC/BCG Case Competition & Pre-Workshop

Consultancy is the same regardless of field: A person is hired by someone else to solve a problem. All consultants must learn some basic tools to do their job. They must learn to frame, specify and present the proposed solution. Why don’t you learn this too?

The University of Copenhagen Entrepreneurship Club (UCEC) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) invite students from both the University of Copenhagen, CBS, ITU and DTU to a Case Competition. Students compete in teams of 3-4 persons.

To get everyone off on the same foot there is a ‘How To Solve a Case’-workshop 2 May. Here you will learn the basic tools that go in to solving a case. It is open to everyone so if you are just curious you can show up without participating in the case. We strongly encourage all Case Competition participants to show up for the workshop but they are not obliged to. There will be a chance to sign up for the competition right after the workshop.

The 7 May, consultants from BCG will present a business case for all the sign-ups. The case will challenge participants to think as strategic consultants in order to solve a business case for a company. Teams will be formed for participants without a team this day. The 9 May, the teams should hand in PowerPoint slideshow that states their proposed solution to the case. The slideshow should have a length so that it could be presented in 15 minutes. A number of finalists will then be selected and invited to present their solution 11 May. The presentation will be a public event at University of Copenhagen so everyone is encouraged to show up! The winners will get a prize from BCG.

You can sign up today for the Case Competition by writing casecomp@ucec.dk the names of you and your teammates, school, year of study, and faculty. Deadline for signing up is 4 May.

There is no need to say that participating in the Case Competition will give you great experience, look good on your CV, expand your network and be fun!

BCG is proud to be sponsoring DANSIC—Danish Social Innovation Club

DANSIC – Danish Social Innovation Club, is a cross-party, student driven, nonprofit organisation whose purpose is to inspire social innovation; to find new visionary solutions for society’s social and environmental challenges. Abroad, social innovation is particularly visible through ideas from social entrepreneurs, socioeconomic companies, and partnerships across the traditional societal sectors.

The main activity is the social innovation conference, DANSIC12, that included 300 motivated students, and 50 speakers participating in panel debates and key notes. The conference took place on the 8 March 2012 in Copenhagen.

BCG is proud to be the main sponsor of the conference, as "we believe that it is a responsibility for a firm such as ours to seek to have a beneficial impact on the world around us" (Hans-Paul Bürkner, President and CEO). We support DANSIC's vision and efforts in driving social entrepreneurship and innovation in Denmark, adding this meaningful local initiative to the multitude of efforts we are putting each year to support major nonprofits, foundations, governments, and corporations.
